Walking in Memphis

Put on our Cards cap

And we packed the Jetta

Stopped off in the land of the Delta blues

In the middle of an early spring

Bar-B-Q spaghetti and pork for dinner

Cause we need a change in scene

And I am as blue as a boy can be

Walking in Memphis

Walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale

Walking in Memphis

Do I really feel the way I feel

Saw the ghost of Elvis

Down on Union Avenue

Followed him to the gates of Graceland

And saw the names of fans left behind

Peabody Hotel in the morn

We just hovered round the fountain

Duck master entertainin

Waiting on the “duck walk”

Down in lobby room

Walking in Memphis

Walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale

Walking in Memphis

Do I really feel the way I feel

They got bar-b-Q on the table

They’ve got trolleys in the street

And glad to see the Civil Rights museum

Martin Luther King’s legacy

You’ve got a prayer in Memphis

Benjamin splashes in the pool

Claire cries at the first dip

Wade our feet in the hot tub

And sad to see it end

Do a little number

Sang with all our might

She said

“Tell me you coming back to Memphis?”

We said, “Ma’am, we wish we could tonight”
