  1. Doug,
Sounds like you are on target for good performance. Here are some unorthadox tips for you to ignore..or not.

Take frequent 3-4 hours hikes in the woods.even longer if the family will let you. Take a compass
    Do Yoga
Don’t do excessive number of 20 miles+ runs
Be wary of those events in St Louis, Kansas, and especially Dairyland…that you don’t resume regular training too soon after….
Do Repeat miles on the track with very short recovery times. Be the fittest you ever have been for shorter distances.

Qualify for Boston in 2012..then skip the race and go watch the Red Sox in Fenway

Either forget the swim training..or train for it like you were Mark Spitz. Just don’t spend a third of your time preparing for it.

    Take naps..lots of them..

Bound up the stairs at work…and hope your legs don’t ache or sting.

Rest for a week before the event..just in case you have overtrained.
    .
and as my farmer friend Gordon Haller once told me after competing in the very first Hawaii Ironman…..”Dont let a barn fall on you the week before the race..like he did.

    Good Luck.

    Harry
