The last hurrah!

A couple of weeks ago we traveled down to the city, New York City, to have one last pow-wow with family or the East Coast dwellers. It might be awhile before that happens again, if it happens again.

It was a warm weekend, which is turning out to be rare in New York this summer, so we went to a water playground along the Hudson River.

Benjamin’s cousins, Madeline and Lillian, were thrilled to see him and couldn’t get enough of him. He had a great time though and loves to be around other kids.

We also went to see the new High Line park located on the west side of Manhattan. It is a new park that is 30 feet above the city.  It used to be an elevated rail line that was no longer in use and slated for demolition. (This is an old picture that I pulled from the internet before being replaced with a park.)

Then some people got together and transformed it into a park. It is actually a very nice park. Someone once said something to the effect that if there are “people who can think like this and put this together then you don’t have to worry about this country”. I agree.

This is a portion of the park today.
