A new PR for the half marathon

Over the past weekend we were in Lake Placid for the half marathon. The weather was beautiful and I even set a new PR for the half marathon.

The results:

1:29:32

25th overall

12th out of 122 in my age group (Men 30-39)

6:51 pace

It was a beautiful course and a fun run. I was able to drop 6 minutes off my time from the last half marathon that I ran.

The last half mile of the race was an uphill climb.

Finally, we ran into the Olympic speed skating Oval in Lake Placid where Eric Heiden skated to five gold medals in the 1980 Winter Olympics.

It was great to be in Lake Placid and we wish we could have stayed longer.

Benjamin also had a great time. He was able to go play in the park during the run.

They are the greatest fans that I could ask for!!

Thanks for cheering me on!

  1. Awesome Doug. Someday I hope to do one. You should try the Adirondack Distance run on the 28th between Lake George and Bolton Landing. It’s a 10 mile race that I did when I was young. There’s a link on the Adirondack Runners club. http://www.adirondackrunners.com/
