More Jots and Thoughts

Stimulus Checks Jots:

Where is your stimulus check going? Ours? Health insurance.

Thoughts of a full moon hike:

Spring is a great time for a full moon hike! We hit the trail at dusk and hoped for good moonlight. Some in our group, brought head lamps and we hoped not to use them. Of course, being hardcore, Em and I didn’t bring headlamps. Unfortunately, the trail was densley covered with trees and followed a ravine. There was little light for our hike. To add to that, the moon didn’t rise until we left the trail. But we had a great time.

Our group was unique. Three students from Troy, a single older gentleman (Jim), and a young married couple from Albany (that’s us). Though unique, and an unlikely group to bump into on a trail, we meshed well and had a great time. Half way through, we lost the trail and wandered into a swampy field and due to minimal vision, the real beauty of the trail wasn’t fully seen. Yet, there were no negative words nor any complaints.

One classy group, that we hope to see on the next full moon hike!

This frog we met on the trail.

Thoughts on the election:

I know you were anticipating this and so here you go:

- “You can’t make this up”. Mark Halperin, from TIME magazine, had this to say about the Kentucky Derby:

Hillary Clinton enthusiastically picked a filly named Eight Belles to win the Kentucky Derby and compared herself to the horse. Eight Belles finished second. The winner was the favorite, Big Brown.

Eight Belles collapsed immediately after crossing the finish line, and was euthanized shortly thereafter.

- An endorsement with sound arguements:

- Finally, a reminder of how long this election has been. This has been one drawn out, frustrating, and tiring race. Has it really been this long? Do you remember an election similar to this? Maybe I was too young to remember that elections are this tedious and trivial. Here is a clever recap of the Democratic primary. It is a great reminder of events that the media and we were once obsessed with but now, not so much. Watch it here and Enjoy:
