Here is a great list of the 5 Best musical performances on Sesame Street. Watch them if you have time and if you are interested. I think REM is my favorite.

I figured an apropos performance on Sesame Street, for me to take to heart, is this video of ‘Put down the ducky’. It has a great message, that if you want to play the saxophone, then put down the ducky. Sacrifice the desires of now for the greater tomorrow. Moderation and balance in all things, self-restraint and self-discipline. Timeless lessons for everyone, especially when all that is keeping you from a PhD is a single published paper.

Enjoy the clip and try to name the celebrities in the video. It aired in 1988, I was 10.
